This morning found us with trucks lining the street in front of the house.
The town is ditching
our side of the street getting ready for a repaving and to ease some flooding that occurs farther down the street. Glad we have shade out front so we could sit and watch the action.
The workers were great in answering questions the children had and they even got to get up into the cab of the dump truck. We had a mini science lesson on flow and friction.
The culvert was flushed and additional grading done,
so the water moved freely through and off. The need for grease on the hinged sections of the shovel, so the metal parts that rubbed did not heat up and wear out or melt.
What a way to spend a morning.
